Orphan's Promise April Ministry Update

Dear Friends of Orphan’s Promise, The flowers are in full bloom here in Virginia, so that must mean that spring is finally here! Where does the time go? It’s always a privilege for me to pause, reflect, and share with you about the work that Orphan’s Promise is doing around the world. I am truly humbled and amazed that God has opened the door for us to be working in over 60 countries this year!

A Journey of Renewed Hope

In May 2008, Cyclone Nargis ripped through the Irrawaddy Delta region of Myanmar. There was widespread destruction with thousands of people estimated to have tragically lost their lives. Not long after the disaster, Orphan’s Promise connected with a ministry partner to establish a much needed preschool in the devastated Irrawaddy region. This was greatly appreciated by the community.

New Hope in Thailand

Every orphaned, displaced and neglected child yearns for a safe nurturing home, filled with love and kindness. The home that 32 Shan children share is no different; it is a home run by one of our ministry partners in Thailand. When many of these children first arrived at this Christian home in Northern Thailand, their young lives had been shattered by violence, fear, and the tragedies of war in Burma. Now they have found a safe haven where they can find love, security and hope for a brighter future.

2013 Highlights

Ongoing Help & Change in Roma Community

The following update is from my husband, Yuriy who is checking on projects within the Roma communities that Orphan's Promise has been working with for the past several years. You may already know how we have winterized homes, built others, provided warm blankets and coats, conducted seminars to teach them how to plant, harvest and store their food so they would not starve in the harsh Ukrainian winters. We have also helped them build a bath house so they can have a hot bath for the first time in their lives.

Grace For Ghana

Orphan's Promise has been enabling students in Ghana to attend school. Several have attended the University and others are in the lower grades. All are so grateful to OP for helping them to achieve their hard won goals of getting an education.

Twenty-One (21) students who are living in communities close enough to Accra were invited to collect their fees personally from the CBN Ghana office.  They submitted receipts of the payments from their respective schools to the office.
