Your Love In Action: Liliya Needs A Home!

Karen Springs is our Project Manager for Europe and CIS countries. She recently visited some of the families we are helping and met one woman who greatly needed assistance. What happened next was an incredible outpouring of love to meet the needs of a stranger on the other side of the world.

Transnistria is a place that most people don’t even know exists, let alone know where to begin to look for it on a map.

Restoration Amidst the Rubble

In Eastern Ukraine, in the city of Slavyansk, extensive amounts of destruction were left as a result of three months of intense fighting in the summer of 2014.

Alexei and Olya and
their three young children miraculously were not at home when a shell hit their house, causing it to burn to the ground. The fire destroyed all that remained - walls, clothing, Alexei’s tools and Olya’s sewing machine. The things that had previously provided them with income were completely destroyed.

Orphan's Promise April Ministry Update

Dear Friends of Orphan’s Promise, The flowers are in full bloom here in Virginia, so that must mean that spring is finally here! Where does the time go? It’s always a privilege for me to pause, reflect, and share with you about the work that Orphan’s Promise is doing around the world. I am truly humbled and amazed that God has opened the door for us to be working in over 60 countries this year!

Strengthening Families - A glimpse into the Father's heart

Psalm 68:5-6 gives me a glimpse into the caring heart of our loving Heavenly Father - “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families.” I have had the blessing of growing up in a warm loving family. I believe God intended this for all children, but I also realize this is not the case for many.

Ukraine: An Epicenter of Charity and War

Slaviansk, a city in eastern Ukraine with about 130,000 residents, has suddenly gained international notoriety, as it has become one of the epicenters of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. A gateway city to the eastern regions of Donetsk, Lugansk, and Kharkiv, it is a strategic location for pro-Russian separatists. However, prior to the international attention the city has gained in recent months, Slaviansk was the epicenter of another revolution, a revolution surrounding adoption.

Keeping Families Together Works!

Ten-year-old Faa has never met her mother.  Her father is in prison.  When she was just one day old, her grandparents, Pongsee and Chert, began caring for her.  They are the only family Faa has known.  Faa’s grandma, Pongsee, told us, “I needed to take care of her.  I never thought to take her to an orphanage.”  Faa loves her grandparents and told us, “I love her like she is my real mother.  She has a good heart; she gives me everything I need.”

End of Year Report For OP

Outreach Summary / December 2013 Dear Friends and Family of Orphan's Promise. We wanted to share some of the highlights in this past year with you. I'm amazed at what God has done with a handful of people and the generosity of folks like you! Formed in 2005, Orphan’s Promise has worked in 61 countries and has ongoing work in 50 countries.  We serve over 100,000 children annually.

2013 Highlights

Hearing The Cry of The Poor

“Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.”  Proverbs (21:13)

When you look into the eyes of a hungry or frightened child, you are looking into the eyes of Jesus crying out to you for help. He cries out to you in the orphaned, abandoned and at risk children, some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

Keeping Families Together!

Orphan’s Promise is currently supporting two KFT (Keeping Families Together) programs in Thailand. This is making it possible for 19 families (82 beneficiaries, 46 of whom are orphans or other highly vulnerable children) to be strengthened so they can remain together as a family, learn about the love of Jesus, and have a better opportunity to develop into all that God has for each one of them.
