Education/Life Skills

Through The Viewfinder: A First-Person Account of Africa, Day 11

In a small tribal village in Masai, Kenya, a 14-year-old girl has a dream to be a doctor. There are many odds against her: poverty, history, tradition, but she's young enough to dream anyways.

It’s a Masai tribal custom for girls her age to drop out of school and marry. Their lives become about cooking, cleaning, making the dung-mud huts, and raising children. Tradition.

Producing The Sound Of Freedom: Uhuru

Editor's Note: Orphan's Promise has partnered with Collector Productions Owner and The HOPE Project Producer, Ryan Meadows, once again to produce the sound of freedom for the children of Kenya. In this series, Ryan will take you on his journey to meet these beautiful people and collaborate on an incredible music project. Proceeds from The FREEDOM Project will go towards furthering educational opportunities for orphans in Kenya. Look for the project this spring!

Partnering To Build Brighter Futures For Teens In Nicaragua

As we move through the summer months, we want to give you a few snapshots of the work we're partnering to do all around the world. In many countries, we have staff on the ground and operate our own facilities to serve children and families in need. We've found that in other areas, it makes the most sense for us to link arms with like-minded organizations and use a partnership approach to tackle the work that needs to be done.

From the Field: A Note from Tim Daniell

Lives Are Being Transformed in Southern and Central Thailand This year, Orphan’s Promise (OP) is blessed to be able to support vulnerable children and families in 12 projects across Thailand, from the far mountainous North to the deep costal South. In August 2015, I had a chance to visit five of these projects with my staff member, Pook, in southern and central Thailand. We were so encouraged by the lives being transformed and the quality project partners Orphan’s Promise is privileged to work with.

Orphan's Promise April Ministry Update

Dear Friends of Orphan’s Promise, The flowers are in full bloom here in Virginia, so that must mean that spring is finally here! Where does the time go? It’s always a privilege for me to pause, reflect, and share with you about the work that Orphan’s Promise is doing around the world. I am truly humbled and amazed that God has opened the door for us to be working in over 60 countries this year!
