End of Year Report For OP

Outreach Summary / December 2013 Dear Friends and Family of Orphan's Promise. We wanted to share some of the highlights in this past year with you. I'm amazed at what God has done with a handful of people and the generosity of folks like you! Formed in 2005, Orphan’s Promise has worked in 61 countries and has ongoing work in 50 countries.  We serve over 100,000 children annually.

2013 Highlights

Hearing The Cry of The Poor

“Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.”  Proverbs (21:13)

When you look into the eyes of a hungry or frightened child, you are looking into the eyes of Jesus crying out to you for help. He cries out to you in the orphaned, abandoned and at risk children, some of the most vulnerable children in the world.

Abduction = Marriage?

In certain countries, such as Armenia, girls as young as 13 are kidnapped by prospective "husbands" and forced to spend the night.  In these cultures, if a girl spends a night away from home, she won't be accepted as a single girl any more, even if "nothing happened", so the parents want her to get married to the person who she spent the night with.
